Fees and Rebates

The cost per session of up to 60 minutes is $240. Sessions longer than this are charged in 10-minute blocks.

Full fee-for-service: We gladly accept clients who do not have a referral or who are not eligible for/accessing government funding. Rachael provides clinical psychology and behaviour support services at an hourly rate that is less than the current rate recommended by the Australian Psychological Association.

You may be eligible for a rebate from your private health insurer. Please contact your private health insurer for more information.

Medicare: Rachael is a registered Medicare provider of Clinical Psychology services. To claim a Medicare rebate ($128.40 per standard session), please ensure that you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan referral from you GP, which you will need to present at your initial appointment. As Behaviour Tonics does not provide bulk-billing services, there will be a gap payment payable.

Please note you will be required to pay your account in full after each session, and then claim your rebate from Medicare.

NDIS: We are not currently accepting NDIS-funded clients.

Cancellation policy

If you need to cancel or re-schedule an appointment, we ask that you provide us with at least 24 hours’ notice.

For example, if your appointment is at 11am on Thursday, you will need to let us know by 11am on Wednesday.

Appointments that are cancelled or re-scheduled within 24 hours will be billed at 50 percent of the session fee, and appointments cancelled on the day of the appointment or not attended, will be billed at 100 percent of the session fee. This will be invoiced to you for payment at the time of the cancellation/non-attendance of the appointment. Please note that you are unable to claim rebates on cancellation fees.

Why do we need this cancellation policy?

  • Given that the time has been set aside for you, if you do not use it, it is unlikely that at short notice the appointment can be filled by someone else.
  • To be fair to other clients who would have taken the appointment time if given sufficient notice.
  • To account for the significant time and care that goes into planning and preparation for your session.
